Leeds is now the UK’s third largest media centre after London and Glasgow, with more than 13,600 people employed in the city’s media industry. Since 1998, the number of people working in the media sector in Leeds has risen by 20 per cent – a growth that looks set to continue.
Championing the city’s media community is Leeds Media – the trade association with a clear mission – “to be at the heart of connecting the country’s best talent with the world’s best companies.”
Leeds Media has a membership of over 240 companies from the traditional media – including television, film, radio, press and publishing – and from marketing, advertising, PR, graphic design, web design and multimedia production. It also has a growing number of members offering specialised services to the media industry including law, recruitment and business support.
